Josh Monroe, a police officer burdened with guilt and duty sets out to find his mother who has been locked away in a shady mental facility. A harrowing discovery puts him in a position where he forces his way through what appear to be freaks of nature. With bleak visions of the past lingering on his mind and each corridor getting darker, does he flourish or does he falter?

MY ROLE

My primary role consisted of spearheading the project as a Project Manager, but I was also the sole Game Designer responsible for creating and helping solder the mechanics of the game together. From putting together concept designs for the main character to making sure the combat , traversal and puzzles all sync properly, my Game Design and Project Managing journey for SCREAM has been extensive and extremely knowledgeable. I also put together the entire plot and a fleshed out perspective of each character for the game which enabled me to solidify a mind-bending story.

DESIGN

In my Game Design journey for SCREAM, I worked on:

1. Level Design for Ward Alpha with in-depth layouts for each floor containing enemy positions, POIs and hints. READ MORE

2. Narrative Design where I created and maintained a Narrative Design Document containing the main story and character breakdowns of each character. READ MORE

3. Gameplay systems such as:

​

  • A flashlight system that incorporates battery collectibles and time management.

  • Lock and key system for certain doors that require keys scattered in the world.

  • Artifact Collectible system with hints of lore placed in convenient points in the world.

  • Hand-to-Hand combat with the incorporation of a knife system.

  • A detection radius system for Enemy NPCs.
